California’s Clean Air Project (CCAP) is a Tribal Serving Organization, funded by the California Tobacco Control Program under the American Indian Initiative. CCAP works statewide, more specifically in the 33 counties that house the 109 federally recognized tribes in the state of California. CCAP is centered on reducing commercial tobacco-related disparities in California American Indian communities by collaborating with Tribal Leaders, Gaming Commissions, Housing Authorities and Tribal members to address secondhand smoke policies within California Tribal casinos and housing complexes. CCAP offers FREE technical assistance to California Tribes to aid in the creation and implementation of smoke-free policies on sovereign land. With CCAP’s lead team coming from native communities, we value and understand how each tribal nation is different and that each community needs and demands policies that are unique to them as a sovereign nation. Most importantly, CCAP strives to build meaningful relationships with our Tribal Partners while creating a healthier future for all the California Tribal Communities.
